Llama me por favor!! She's a Tease - Millonaria

Cool kids She's A Tease out of Monterrey, Mexico have released their much aniticpated album throwing soul drenched rock/hip hop with a latin twist thats infectious and will definitely get you moving. Relatively unknown outside of Mexico apart from their anthemic tune "Datos Intimos" and following remix by Disco Ruido, She's a Tease have made an album driven by a range of styles, mixed and mashed quite well, showing wisdom and talent beyond their years.

The hallmark of most, maybe even all great albums is not that every song on the album is good or great, but their ability to relate to each other in forming a narrative or have an underlying concept pumping life into the album beat for beat for its entire duration. Millonaria is the exploration of genres and identity, often straying from their native Spanish, exploring possibilities for disco synths and beats in territories unknown. Watching the Latin-American music scene from afar, I can definitely appreciate this blend of ideas, which from my background I would describe as early forms of an international style. Whether this is indicative of intentionally seeking a larger audience or simply a bi-product of their musical philosophy, after listening to "Pan y Vino" you'll be finding yourself telling everybody you see to get down for weeks on end.

After such a stellar year of music, especially in Mexican/Latin-American music circles, Millonaria is definitely one of the revelations of the year, and its creators are one to look out for in the future.
